NSW Smart and Skilled for Businesses
Under the NSW Smart and Skilled Program Gateway Training Academy is able to provide employers access to subsidised new entrant traineeships. This will give your employees a unique opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification whilst concurrently building their skills in their role.
What is the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible for a new entrant traineeship your employees need to be employed:
- for less than 3 months as a full-time employee prior to the commencement of the traineeship, or
- for less than 12 months as a part-time or casual employee prior to the commencement of the traineeship, or
- for less than 12 months in a combination of part-time, casual and full-time employment prior to the commencement of the traineeship
and also be
- an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or a New Zealand citizen, and
- 15 years or older, and
- have left school, and
- live or work in NSW
